From July 7 to 11, our competition class dancers were in Las Vegas competing in the National Final of the Spotlight Dance Competition. This is our first year competing in any United States competition, we are amazed beyond belief that our dancers not only got into the National Finals, but finished first in Future Gem Ruby Class across all discipline. Our competitors came from all over the country and were in all styles of dances including Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Hiphop, and so on. This is such an unbelievable accomplishment and we couldn't wish for a better end of the season.
We made a vlog which you can view on our Xiaohongshu:

"Friendship" - Open Duo by Eleanor and Sophia - SAPPHIRE AWARD OVERALL 4TH & JUDGES CHOICE AWARD
"Dunhuang Fairies" - Open Group - !!RUBY CLASS FIRST!!
What is a National Final and how does it differ from other competitions?
For all the competitions locally there is usually a season where regional smaller events are held across many cities, and the top dancers from each event will advance to the final, be it provincial, or national. The advancing groups will re-compete against all the top talents from the regional events, and win the final trophy.
Spotlight is a national event, which happens across the United States, the final competition is much bigger as a result, and includes not only competitions, but also master classes and dancedowns.
Synergy under Global Dance Events & Services for another example is a provincial event, and the provincial final will feature top teams from different competitions within the province.
Plan for 2026
Next year, we plan on continue to compete in 3 local events and 1 United States event. The international events were amazing in the exposure it has given to our dancers. They get to see stronger teams, and also got a chance to participate in various other activities.
Please follow our 2025-2026 school calendar page to checkout specific dates for the competitions, and make sure to block off your calendars if you are going to be competing.
Final Congrats
Amazing work for the dancers who was in Vegas last week, we hope you had a great time dancing, learned lots, and look forward to next year's comp season.
